ABOUT
Women Empowerment: Our Core Mission
At AAMRA NARI, our primary goal is to champion women's empowerment. Our team is dedicated to bringing together successful women each year through this event. We believe this initiative will add value to both digital and print media, serving as a powerful platform to celebrate empowered women nationally.
Our focus is to highlight women who are successful and exemplary in their fields through annual events held on International Women’s Day, March 8th. We are confident in our preparations and efforts to bring these remarkable women together under one umbrella. This will motivate current and future generations to strive for empowerment and contribute to the overall development of Bangladesh through their skills and competence.
The event, "Women Empowerment of Bangladesh," features over 50 inspiring national experts, entrepreneurs, policymakers, development practitioners, academics, business and industry leaders, and more. They will share their experiences and best practices on overcoming barriers to women's economic empowerment. This initiative aims to drive change and take action for women's economic empowerment both online and offline.

THE INITIATORS
Bangladesh is part of a region often referred to as a belt of 'classic patriarchy,' which extends from northern Africa and the Middle East to the northern plains of the Indian subcontinent. The social structures within this belt are characterized by highly restrictive codes of behavior for women, in stark contrast to the more egalitarian gender relations found in South India and much of Southeast Asia.
Both Muslim and non-Muslim societies within this belt often practice rigid gender segregation, specific family and kinship structures, and a powerful ideology linking family honor to female virtue. Men are typically tasked with safeguarding family honor through control over female members, supported by complex social arrangements ensuring women's protection—and dependence.
Despite these restrictive norms, many women have emerged victorious, breaking barriers and pioneering development in society, the economy, and various spheres of life. My work aims to highlight 50 such pathbreakers, showcasing their journeys and creating inspiration for future generations.
